TVA EnergyRight Rebates Are Available Now — See If You Qualify

The Rebates

Through TVA EnergyRight, qualifying homeowners can get a $500 rebate on attic insulation and a $300 rebate on air sealing. We take care of all the rebate paperwork for you.

Why Attic Insulation and Air Sealing

The attic is where most homes lose the most heat in winter and pick up the most heat in summer. Air sealing closes the gaps between the living space and the attic: around top plates, light fixtures, attic hatches and the holes where plumbing and wiring run through. Insulation then slows the heat moving through the ceiling. Done together, the house holds its temperature better and the heating and cooling system runs less.

Each one covers what the other can't. Fiberglass slows heat but lets air pass through it, so insulation alone won't stop a leak, and sealing alone adds no insulation. That is why the two are done in the same visit, with the sealing done first while the attic floor is still open to work on.

We air-seal attics with foam and rigid foam board, and insulate them withblown-in fiberglass or spray foam, in new homes and as re-insulation of existing ones. You can see examples of both in our gallery.
